BIOGRAFIA (BORRADOR III) DE JORGE ENRIQUE ABELLO

PARTE 5 (27.5.2004)

Cuando terminaba su trabajo en “Perro Amor” a finales de 1998 Jorge fué elegido como protagonista en la telenovela “Yo soy Betty la fea” para interpretar a Armando Mendoza,el apuesto y rico presidente de “ECOMODA”, un papel dificil en su contenido y que solo un gran actor como Jorge puede superar con creces y llegar al corazón de tanta gente,nos cautivo su maestria en todos los sentidos y en especial esa facilidad de estar gritando y al momento ser el hombre más dulce y cariñoso…. Cuenta ,que besar a Betty noera agradable , evidentemente por los brackets, por que los labios se le pelaban y acababa fatal. Pero el sigue pensando que el personaje de Beatriz Pinzon Solano hubiera podido ser mas feo, pero lo acpeto asi para queen la situación se guardara un equilibrio.AunqueJorge se considera un típico imitador por que le gusta observar a las personas, “Durante el rodaje de la primera parte de ‘Betty la Fea’ nos hizo reír mucho a todos, ya que no paraba de imitarnos, sobre todo a mí, claro” exclama Ana María Orozco. Jorge Enrique se ha transformado en uno de los actores más populares de América Latina. El mismo reconoce que el éxito de Betty le obligó a cambiar su ritmo de vida. No puede caminar por la calle, las fans lo acosan e incluso llegaron a llevarse objetos personales de su camerino. De cualquier modo Jorge asegura que se toma con calma la fama, que el divismo simplemente no va con él. Durante el rodaje de Betty acudieron muchísimos personajes entre ministros, cancilleres, empresarios, periodistas extranjeros… a todos los cuales Jorge siempre atento y amable nunca se ha negado a saludar o a conocer por muchos que fueran.

El se toma fotos con quien se lo pida; mientras ensaya juega y gasta bromas a todo el mundo y se escapa de vez en cuando a fumarse un cigarrillo y a tomar un “tinto”; si sabe que algún periodista le está esperando para hacerle una entrevista, él mismo se ocupa de buscarle en cuanto puede para no hacerle esperar más que lo imprescindible… y venderia su país al mundo con la frase : -“Colombia un país de gente buena”.Es un enamorado de su país y cuando le piden su opinión para conocerlo a la hora de pasear o de hacer turismo Jorge Enrique sonrie y recomienda:-“Toda Colombia, tuve oportunidad de conocerla a pie y me encanta. No hay un lugar que uno pueda perderse”.

" Yo vengo de un pais que se llama Colombia, que tiene la cuenca hidrofrájica más grande de America,que tiene dos mares,tres cordilleras. Es uno de los paises más ricos del mundo en bio-diversidad,donde hay una gente maravillosa,y donde se respira un aire muy lindo. Y yo queria decirles que en mi pais hay problemas, muchos problemas “…. a veces esos problemas cruzan las fronteras. Jorge asegura que al principio de grabar Betty, no tenia niuna solacana, y ahora tengo muchas, Armando es un personaje muy fuerte y me crea mucha tensión y añade: No me las pienso pintar, porque las arrugas y las canas son mi vida,ese soy yo,no soy actor para jugar al galán,si me toca hacer de gordo me engordo….En una de las escenas de Betty, donde a Armando lo golpean en un Bar, Jorge no quiso ser sustituido por dobles y comento: “Esa pelea duro tres noches y al final del tercer dia yo estaba amoreteado,tenia un hombro dislocado, el maquillaje era dulce ¿tu sabes?,esa sangre es dulce y se pararón dos abejas acá en mi mejilla y no me di cuenta, entonces me picaron la cara, ademas de todo el dolor que tenia esos tres dias, todo lo que vieron era con la cara picada por las abejas, fué horrible!!!

Jorge Enrique, ya ha conquistado con sus actuaciones en YO SOY BETTY LA FEA Y ECOMODAa todo el publico yse hizo acreedor a los “PREMIOS ORQUÍDEA”. Estos premios que destacan el trabajo de los actores hispanos en el extranjero los conceden anualmente la Camara de Comercio Colombo-Americana y la Embajada de Estados Unidos.

A Jorge Enriquese loentregaron (2002)junto a otros actores colombianos, repitiendo el papel del atractivo Armando Mendoza en “Ecomoda”, serie con episodios de la nueva vida de los populares personajes de “Betty”.

Jorge conoció a la que hoy es su esposa Marcela Salazar a finales de Octubre de 1997en una invitación a una cena y los presento un amigo en comun.A la pregunta de cuando se dio cuenta de que Marcela era la mujer de su vida responde: -“Yo venía de una epoca de solteria agitada e intensa y realmente no me percaté de que ella había llegado hasta que se fué. Se cansó, me dejó una nota un día y se fué. Entonces partí a buscarla. Ella se iba a EE.UU. y me tocó agarrar un avión y salir detrás de ella.” Jorge y laguapísimacomunicadora social se casaron un año más tarde en la Iglesia de la Merced de Cali,el novio llego al altardel brazo de su madre Heidi Moreno y la novia de su padre Hugo Salazar, entre los invitados se encontraban Julian Arango y Ana Maria Orozco,compañeros de Jorge en “Betty la fea”. Jorge Enrique a su vez fue padrino de bodas de Ana María y Juliánya que les une una gran amistad desdela infancia. En su apartamento del 2º piso de un edificio del sector elegante de Bogotá se nota el carácter intelectual de Jorge por la abundancia de libros y de discos.Sus paredes revelan que Vicente Huidobro es uno de sus poetas favoritos -“uno de los grandes del siglo XX”-dice- y la música que se escucha es de un estilo moderno con raices étnicas. En Agosto del 2001 Jorge viajo a Puerto Rico invitado por su amigo el cantante Ricardo Montaner a sus últimos dos conciertos, la amistad de ambos se engrandeció cuando Montaner colaboró en un capitulo de BETTY donde canto el tema “BESAME”. El sabado 18 de Agosto, Jorge entró en la sala Antonio Paul del centro de Bellas Artes de San Juan, ya que tenia que presentar el espectáculo del cantante, el público lo recibió con un gran aplauso…..Jorge les dijo emocionado:“gracias por abrirme las puertas de su casa”, comento sobre el amor y el mensaje que quiso transmitir Betty la fea : “no importa como seas no como te vistas, lo importante es amar y que te amen”, su esposa Marcela se encontraba sentada entre el público, Jorge dejo el escenario, para volver sobre las 10.20 para hacer junto a su amigo un dialogo muy divertido y lleno de humor……
