Randy Orton Injury Update, Backstage Heat on Alberto Del Rio and Sheamus?

Posted by Larry Csonka on 07.24.2013

Randy Orton suffered a low-grade concussion during his match against Alberto Del Rio at last week’s Smackdown taping.

Alberto Del Rio reportedly doesn’t have heat with Vince McMahon or Triple H, but word is that he does have some with talent in the locker room. This is due to the fact that Orton is not the first person he has injured during his WWE run.

Sheamus also has some heat backstage. With Sheamus, word is that he was, “the only pain in the ass in the MITB Ladder Match” because he only worried about his own spots in and not helpful in putting the match together.

As noted earlier, first reported that Randy Orton suffered a cervical strain and cervical neuropraxia at last week’s SmackDown taping. While the injury was first thought to be relatively minor, he did not appear at either RAW tapings this week. He is currently advertised for this weekend’s live events in Georgia and next week’s tour in South Africa, but it remains to be seen if he will be able to make those shows.

Why Alberto Del Rio Has Heat With Several Superstars

Alberto Del Rio is in trouble for being too aggressive in the ring.

Word is Del Rio gave Orton a low-grade concussion during their match on the July 16 WWE Smackdown taping. Del Rio has some heat now with several WWE Superstars because Orton is not the first person he’s injured. They think Del Rio is reckless in the ring.

Meanwhile, Orton will not miss any in-ring time. Orton is advertised for a live event on July 26 in Atlanta, Georgia, as well as two live events from July 27-28 in Australia.
