Source: F4WOnline F4WOnline reports that Rey Mysterio will not be appearing at this Sunday’s AAA TripleMania event in Mexico City. It was rumored that Mysterio would be joining Alberto Del Rio at the show. Del Rio confirmed his appearance at the show in the video above, however Mysterio is still under contract with WWE and WWE was never asked about him appearing, nor would they allow it.
As for Alberto Del Rio, he is doing media appearances in Mexico under that name, which is owned by WWE, for Sunday’s event. F4WOnline noted that the situation between Del Rio and WWE is “very acrimonious.” According to their report, WWE is trying to tie Del Rio up in a lengthy non-compete clause, similar to the one that Jim Ross had that just recently expired. WWE would have to pay Del Rio for the duration of the non-compete clause.
While Del Rio will be appearing at Sunday’s AAA show as a special guest, WWE does not want him appearing for AAA shows on the El Rey Network, nor do they want him appearing for TNA.

Regarding the WWE employee that Del Rio assaulted, Cody Barbierri, one person told The Wrestling Observer that he was a “jerkoff who was very arrogant,” but said he was intelligent and his attitude had flown under the radar of WWE officials.
Another source noted to the newsletter that Barbierri had a few situations while on the road with WWE over the past year and he had a reputation for talking down to wrestlers. However, Barbierri has had the backing of Stephanie McMahon and has been a key player in WWE’s social media department.
WWE Wants to Lock Up Alberto Del Rio To a Longer Non-Compete Clause

Alberto Del Rio has been getting a ton of publicity for his appearance at Sunday’s TripleMania show in Mexico City. The circumstances of his firing have been reported in Mexico, and this has put him in a strong babyface position in the country. While promoting his appearance, he has been using the Alberto Del Rio name.
Sources in Mexico have stated that Del Rio’s non-compete clause with WWE does not apply to Mexico, which is why he can appear. Things are said to be angry and bitter between the sides. WWE does not want Del Rio appearing either for TNA or for the AAA shows on the El Rey Network in the US. They are looking to lock him up in a longer term non-compete deal, similar to what they did with Jim Ross. Ross was dismissed from WWE right after Summerslam 2013, but was not free to work for a rival wrestling promotion until just recently. If WWE opts to do this, they will also have to continue to pay Del Rio.

At this time, TNA is very interested in former WWE star Alberto Del Rio. Word is that if the company could sign Del Rio, that they would put the TNA World Title on him as soon as he debuted.
Del Rio has a 90-day no-compete clause with WWE, so at this time he cannot sign with TNA. He will appear at Sunday’s TripleMania event, and while he may work with AAA, that doesn’t rule him out of working with TNA.

TNA quiere hacer campeón a Alberto Del Río
TNA había mencionado días antes en requerir de los servicios de Alberto Del Río tras su despido de WWE, ahora harán todo lo posible para que acepte.
Las directivos de TNA quieren forzosamente que el mexicano forme parte de su roster, incluso le han ofrecido inmediatamente el título TNA World Heavyweight Championship, quien actualmente Bobby Lashley posee.
Las negociaciones de la empresa de Dixie Carter hacia “El Patrón” podrán tomarse en cuenta una vez que ya haya pasado el lapso de 90 días.
Recordemos también que Alberto Del Río estará con AAA por un tiempo, pues el contrato de 90 días sin aparecer en televisión sólo afecta a Estados Unidos. Aunque también podría ser que AAA obtuviera el permiso de WWE.
En caso de que sea contratado por TNA, podría ser el primer latinoamericano en ser el máximo campeón.

Latest Details on Alberto Del Rio’s WWE Release

The Wrestling Observer has more details on Alberto Del Rio’s WWE release. The site reports that Del Rio was, as has been heavily reported, fired after slapping a WWE social media employee. That employee is Cody Barbierri, the WWE’s Manager of Social Media Live Events, and the incident occurred last week on the night of the Smackdown tapings (August 5th). The report of Barbierri making a racist joke about Del Rio’s job being to clean plates is accurate; one performer for the company notes that the firing wasn’t as much about the slap but how hard it was, enough to knock Barbierri to the ground.
Del Rio was told after the incident that he would be suspended until just past SummerSlam, but the belief is that Barbierri threatened to sue the company and that forced the company’s hands for legal reasons. Triple H called Del Rio on August 7th to let him know and he was reportedly furious.
The Observer notes that Barbierri isn’t well-liked backstage because he frequently talks down to the talent, but he is a high-ranking person in the company and has the support of the McMahon family.

As noted, WWE released Alberto Del Rio after he slapped WWE’s Manager of Social Media Live Events Cody Barbierri at last week’s TV tapings. Del Rio confronted Barbierri in catering for a remark that Barbierri made earlier. The story is that someone made a remark to Barbierri about not cleaning off his plate and as a joke, he said that was Del Rio’s job. Del Rio was not there at the time but was told about it. When he confronted Barbierri, he told him he did not appreciate the racist remark and wanted an apology.
The Wrestling Observer reports that it was going around backstage that Del Rio “slapped the s–t” out of Barbierri, knocking him to the floor, and Del Rio’s release wasn’t so much that he assaulted Barbierri but based more on how hard he hit him.
Del Rio was reportedly told after the incident that he was being suspended for a short time, until just past SummerSlam. There’s a belief that Barbierri threatened to sue WWE and at that point, WWE felt they had no choice but to let Del Rio go due to legal reasons. Triple H called Del Rio on August 7th, letting him go and he was reportedly furious.
